All at Illig would like to wish Geoff Brooks all the best for his upcoming retirement at the end of the year. A hardened veteran of the plastics industry Geoff has been with Illig for more than two decades and all at the company would like to thank him for his leadership, guidance and friendship throughout this time. Through his time at the firm Geoff has seen significant changes both within the technology and the industry as a whole and has ensured that Illig has remained at the forefront of these developments.
Geoff Brooks added;
Having worked for Illig for over 20 years, I have seen the Company grow and face numerous challenges and changes. This new website is a timely reminder that life moves on and a business must adapt and change to meet future requirements.
I am delighted to be handing over the stewardship to Tom and he has achieved a lot in his short career at Illig handling many major accounts and converting significant sales. He has matured and developed and is now ready to lead. I am sure the Company is in good hands and will continue developing and representing the latest technology in thermoforming. Illig is a forward thinking Company and brings new ideas and technologies to the market, I am sure Tom and the team at Illig UK will continue in this vein.
Retirement is not something you think about, especially 20 years ago but the fact time seems to have passed quickly shows it has been enjoyable and a pleasure. I will miss all the colleagues, customers and friends that I have found on my journey. The plastics industry is very small and I am sure I will keep an eye on progress and keep in touch, either on a Golf Course or in a bar, once normality returns to our world.
Long term colleague Kaetie Carne responded with her own tribute:
Geoff has been a steady and reliable captain of the Illig UK ship whilst still being open to innovation and pushing the odd boundary. A pleasure to work with.
We would also like to take this opportunity to welcome and introduce Tom Price as our new M.D. Tom is no stranger to illig, having been with us for more than five years and is well known within the industry. He is passionate about the company and is keen to build on the strong foundations that Geoff has created;
Geoff has always been a mentor to me in the last 5 years, he has helped me expand my knowledge within the industry and business environment. When any person retires from a company with the knowledge base and experience he holds will be a great loss. What Geoff has achieved over the years with ILLIG and personal is a credit to his character. I want wish Geoff all the best with retirement and it is time for him to enjoying life without working bonds.
Echoing Geoff’s final sentiments, all at Illig wish for a return to some more normality, not least to give Geoff a proper send off!
